Jaya  recently completed her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Miami.  While pursuing her degree, she performed with the New World Symphony, Miami City Ballet, The Florida Grand Opera, Palm Beach Symphony and Orchestra Miami.  As a teaching assistant and Henry Mancini Institute Fellow, Jaya was not only given the opportunity to teach, but also play in many diverse styles with amazing artists.  She has performed alongside James Newton Howard, Gloria Estefan, Chick Corea, Bobby McFerrin, Joshua Bell, Mark O'Connor, Ben Folds, and Terrence Blanchard.  Prior to her studies at the University of Miami, Jaya worked in Community Engagement for the New World Symphony.  She has always been passionate about finding new ways to engage audiences with music. Jaya has performed with Discovery Ensemble, Brookline Symphony, and Ash Lawn Opera. 

Jaya completed her MM at the University of Michigan and her Bachelor's at Duquesne University.

As an educator, she has served as a faculty member for the Conservatory Lab Charter School, All Newton Music School, Suzuki School of Boston, and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. 

Jaya currently performs extensively throughout Houston with Divisi Strings and serves as a substitute musician in the San Antonio Symphony as well as the Houston Ballet Orchestra.  She is also on faculty at the Campbell Learning Center.
